Facial Lipofilling – Facial Lipostructure

Lipostructure or lipofilling has been reliably used in cosmetic surgery since 1995.

The principle is to first remove fat cells from the patient himself by gentle liposuction, then to reinject these cells to fill a depression or lack of facial volume.

This technique will therefore make it possible to :

• fill in and reduce certain facial wrinkles
• restore the volume and shape of a thinned face in the early stages of facial aging (fat melting)
• improve the results of a cervico-facial lift (facial harmony)

The whole body can benefit from this technique, especially to treat certain rare irregularities after liposuction or to fill a tissue depression following a trauma (depressive scar…).

HIV+ patients undergoing triple therapy and presenting a fatty melting of the face can also benefit from lipofilling sessions to correct these disgraces.

In the indications of so-called “reconstructive” surgery, lipofilling can be covered by health insurance.

The lipoaspiration performed as part of a lipofilling is done very gently through an incision of a few millimeters, hidden in a natural fold.

The fat is then centrifuged in order to collect intact fat cells that have not been damaged by the liposuction.

The reinjection of the fat cells is carried out using micro-cannulas of 1mm diameter.

The fat cells will remain “alive” since it is an “adipocyte graft”. The result is therefore definitive after a few months, with no loss of volume (unlike injections of resorbable filler such as hyaluronic acid).

Pain is not very important, well controlled by the analgesics that will be prescribed to you.

Edema (swelling) and bruises (bruises) present in the postoperative period are reabsorbed in 10 to 20 days.

A very slight overcorrection is usual, since a resorption of the fat re-injected is expected in the order of 20 to 30% within 3 to 6 months. It is therefore only after this time that the final result can be appreciated.
