Depending on your morphology, the breast prostheses will be placed during a breast augmentation either in front of the pectoralis major muscle or behind this muscle.
- Retromuscular position (behind the muscle) :
Recommended position especially for thin women with little fat on the upper part of the breast. The result after breast augmentation is more natural because the upper edge of the prosthesis is hidden by the muscle and the risk of periprosthetic shells is reduced.
- Premuscular position (in front of the muscle) :
Position chosen for breast augmentation in very sporty women, with enough fat in the upper part of the breast to be able to hide the upper edge of the prosthesis.
