Both hands and face are difficult to hide in social life and are not immune to the signs of aging.
Recent techniques to combat the effects of facial aging are now for some now applicable to the hand.

The main signs of aging hands are :

the thinning of the skin on the back of the hand with visualization of the subcutaneous elements (veins…)
melting of fat and muscle in the hand.

The filling of these atrophied tissues can be achieved by injecting Radiesse (Calcium Hydroxyapatite) or fat by Lipostructure or Lipofilling.

By injection of Radiesse

Radiesse is a filler made from calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres suspended in a water-based gel. Radiesse™ is 100% biocompatible, so no allergy test is required prior to treatment. Radiesse™ is 100% biodegradable, it breaks down gradually over time and is absorbed by the body naturally and safely. Radiesse is injected under the skin surface using a fine needle.

A mild anesthetic is mixed with the product for comfort.
The injection is performed in the doctor’s office during a consultation.
Results are visible after the first treatment.

A follow-up visit is scheduled 10 to 15 days after the initial treatment to assess whether a touch-up is needed.

By lipostructure

The filling of the tissues of the back of the hand is performed by reinjection of centrifuged autologous fat after liposuction in the operating theatre. This is the “LIPOFILLING” or “LIPOSTRUCTURE” technique also used for facial filling. This technique is performed under local or general anaesthesia.

The advantage of this technique is of course the durability of the results and the absence of the use of substances other than autologous fat (taken from the patient himself).
