MEDIOFACIAL OR CENTROFACIAL LIFT 

The cervico-facial lift is the most frequently performed facelift. A natural result without modification of the expressions is preferred.

It combines:

  • a face lift (cheekbones, cheeks, oval of the face)
  • a neck lift (allows to redefine the angle between the chin and the neck)
  • a facelift of the temporal region (dummy clip)

What are the objectives of a mid-face lift ?

The mid-face lift is, along with the cervico-facial lift, the most commonly performed facelift in cosmetic surgery.

Its objective is to “lift” the middle part of the face, particularly the cheekbones that have fallen and lost volume during aging.

In this way, the anatomical structures are returned to a younger position, without modifying the facial features.

The cheekbones are lifted by points located deep down, allowing them to be suspended vertically. The excess skin of the lower eyelid will be removed at the end of the operation. A temporal lift is most often performed at the same time.

General anesthesia is most often used. However, local anaesthesia assisted by tranquilizers is sometimes used. The choice between these 2 types of anaesthesia will be decided during the pre-operative consultations.

Where are the scars from a mid-face lift placed?

They are hidden just under the eyelashes of the lower eyelid, extending slightly outward and merging into a fold of the crow’s feet.

A second incision is usually made in the temporal region, hidden in the hair. In the long run, they are really very discreet, even almost invisible.
